Journalist, SPH
A long time ago, I found myself on an unexpected journey interning as a journalist with a local Chinese paper. During this time, my interview skills developed as I interacted with people from all walks of life — world-renowned chefs, ministers, and even the everyday auntie and uncle on the block. I honed my storytelling abilities, crafting engaging narratives for the paper under tight deadlines. It wasn't a smooth-sailing process, but it taught me to adapt quickly and efficiently.
Little did I know that these four life-changing months would plant the seeds for my current career path (spoiler alert ‼️), shaping my skills and passions in ways I hadn't anticipated.

After university, I began my career as a graphic designer. Working at design agencies with lean teams allowed me to wear many hats and learn a lot along the way. After years of exploring branding, print, and digital design, I started to think beyond just pixel pushing.

I was lucky to be part of the pioneer team for CardsPal, contributing to its MVP and conducting market research in the pre-launch phase. I oversaw in-app campaigns and collaborately closely with Product, Marketing and Engineering teams.
As a pioneer member, I helped:
Strategised features with founders and the product team
Led features from concept, research, and design to execution
Built a lean design system for the CardsPal app

I thrive on tackling complex challenges - projects that make me think deeply and push boundaries. My work covered mostly consumer-facing features like promo code, payments, bookings, Know Your Customer (KYC), GetGo’s website and more.
As a versatile designer, I’ve enjoyed contributing to:
Leading design and research for multiple launched projects
Redesigning the GetGo website, initiating domain migration and evaluating vendors
Developed the SBS x GetGo partnership website on Webflow from scratch
Building the Freedom Design System and website’s design system from the ground up
Shaping product roadmaps in collaboration with stakeholders
Establishing processes and repositories to streamline domain knowledge
